GCDA Switching over to Solar Energy

The solar power station catering 50% of GCDA's power needs has been inaugurated by Justice Krishna Aiyyar on 9.10.2013. The solar energy generated feeds the power requirement of two of the four floors of GCDA office. This 60kvA PowerStation contains 144nos of polycrystalline solar panel, 60kvA power conditioning unit with 3phase output and the connected components. The cost of the project is 42.90 lakhs excluding 30% subsidy from NMRE. This power station was installed by UNITED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, KOLLAM, a state Govt. company, selected by GCDA through tendering process. The solar panels are also having a warranty of 25 years
